Tom SweeneyDirector / Consultant
He grew up in England to Irish parents, and has since lived in Germany, Australia and now New Zealand. Not sure who he will go for in the rugby but looks like he has them all covered…

Tom has over 15 years experience working in sales and recruitment. He loves working with people, and building long term relationships that deliver value. Recruitment isn’t a quick fix to Tom, he wants to make sure the right people find the right organisations, and vice versa.

Some people say Tom is a nice bloke with great chat, but all agree he is excellent at IT recruitment (he even claims to have won an award or two). Tom will take the time to understand you and what you need, and will help you on your path to finding a fulfilling career, or finding the right individual to join your Crew.

He moved to NZ for his love of the outdoors but seems to always find a way to the local ale house. He has a passion for craft beer, Pinot and boxing… just not at the same time

Cory RichardsDirector / Consultant
Cory was born in the Deep South down in Invercargill before moving to central Otago when he was just a wee nipper. Departing NZ in his early 20’s and embarking on a 10 year tour working and living in England, Canada and Australia where he started his career in IT recruitment.

Meeting his now wife and having two little sprogs the family decided it was time to move back home to NZ in 2013 as his parents still live in the Central Otago region. Cory enjoys all things out doors, loves spending time with his family and enjoys the odd beverage or five.

Having worked in the IT sector since 2007 he believes in his ability to add value to a company’s hiring process, through experience, networks and personal drive.

Sarah LincolnRecruitment Consultant
Sarah grew up in the North Island and then came to Otago to study, met a boy and has never looked back. (Sound Familiar ?)

Sarah loves the outdoors – especially taking her dog Riley out and getting out on her mountain bike. She hopes to brave the seesaw at Redwoods one day. Sarah loves travelling, her and her partner Dave get away as much as possible. Sarah’s favourite meal is Chicken Enchiladas which she enjoys the most when Dave is cooking and she is drinking a Bookbinder or merlot.

Sarah has previously worked in events, marketing and HR. With her previous experience and love of helping people connect she jumped at the chance to join the Crew. You can get hold of Sarah on or call 021 996 443

Mat BairdRecruitment Consultant
Mat is originally from Otago, but grew up in the Hawke’s Bay. Returning to Dunedin to attend University, he figured out that it’s the place to be and hasn’t left since!

He fills his spare time with a few social sports, namely hockey, futsal, and cricket, but is motivated by the post-match beers more than anything else. Find Mat in the clubrooms on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. He’s also taken to the trails recently, working through the Great Walks and some of the better-known walks around the South Island. Having ticked off a few in 2019 and 2020, next up are the Kepler & Rakiura Tracks.

Mat’s work experience is steeped with IT Industry roles: support, technician, service delivery, and technology sales. Having combined his technological interests with his consultative skillset, Mat has found success adding value to a company’s hiring process. He still keeps up with the latest hardware releases and loves to build (another) new computer whenever he can too.

Rachael TobeckRecruitment Consultant
Rachael is a born and bred Cantabrian, who also briefly lived in the North Island, but soon realised that Christchurch was the place where her and her family wished to settle.

Married with two children, Rachael, outside of work, can often be found spending time outdoors with her family, entertaining, landscaping their rural property or travelling to exciting places.

Rachael is a people person, who has a genuine passion for recruitment and enjoys the satisfaction of connecting people to achieve their career aspirations. Prior to joining Crew, Rachael has over 10 years industry experience, spanning from recruitment to analytics and data management across the APAC region.

James Boyd
James BoydRecruitment Consultant
James moved to Dunedin in early 2016 with his then Fiancée to escape the rat race and enjoy the many lifestyle benefits Otago is known for.

With a diverse background in the Arts, Government, Compliance, and now Recruitment, James enjoys helping candidates and clients achieve their personal and operational goals.
Originally from Cambridge (A stone’s throw from Hobbiton) James keeps this LOTR lineage alive with an uncanny resemblance to our hairy footed friends.

When not at work James can often be found in his home studio/man cave playing music (A self-confessed guitar nerd!) spending time with his wife and young son and enjoying a Pale Ale or two – usually in this order.

Kelsi TyrrellDelivery Lead
Kelsi was born in Dunedin, moved to Central Otago as a wee kid and grew up there before ending up back in Dunedin. She decided to spread her wings to Melbourne for a few years, travel a little and has since moved home again to settle back where it all began.

Outside work, Kelsi enjoys getting out and about with her partner, playing sports and has a fairly recent found love for travelling/exploring new places. Oh, and of course enjoys the odd wine (or few) on the weekends.

Kelsi’s previous experience has predominantly been in regional management, however a career change towards recruitment led her to join the team. She has a passion for working with people and helping them develop and grow in their career.

Angela ButlerRecruitment Consultant
After living in Christchurch for nearly 20 years Angela is still not sure if she can call herself a Cantabrian just yet however if the Red and Black team are in the rugby finals you will hear her supporting them.

As Angela has a passion for socialising if you don’t see her at a networking event you will see her at the local festivals or cutting shapes on a Friday night.

When she started in telco back in 2004 she realised IT people were her people (have you watched the IT Crowd?), this being an advantage when she decided to step into recruitment five years ago and hasn’t looked back. She is passionate about building relations for both candidates and clients (whether it’s over a coffee or wine) to get the right outcome.

I have used Tom to recruit a number of roles. Tom always acts with the utmost integrity and has continually provided candidates that are second to none. I would strongly recommend Tom on any recruitment engagement.
