The role:
We are on the hunt for an experienced Systems Engineer to join our clients IT team. Having the ability to make the role your own, you will design, implement, and support IT infrastructure. You will create solutions, manage the respective implementation, and provide a variety of support to internal users on their IT queries.
Your daily duties will include troubleshooting a variety of hardware, software, and network operating system issues, managing and maintaining networking systems including physical and virtual servers. You will assist in the development of the company’s cloud strategy and ensure systems are safe by managing firewalls and anti-virus protection.
This is a full-time salaried role based in Dunedin or Christchurch, with 40 hours per week.
What makes a good Systems Engineer?
To be successful in this position, you should ideally have significant experience as a Systems Engineer. You should enjoy working with people, possess exceptional communication skills, and be able to explain technical terms in simple language. Additionally, you must have strong organizational skills and be capable of working in a fast-paced environment.

- Confidence in installing, operating, maintaining, and repairing operating systems, networks, and programs on personal computers
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Exchange, VMware, Citrix XenApp, Active Directory, M365, Azure and other platforms/utilities
- Confidence in installing, operating, maintaining, and repairing operating systems, networks, and programs on personal computers
- Experience in managing, setting up, and maintaining virtual environments, and an understanding of virtual server management
