Role Description:

Become an integral part of an expanding Technical Artist and development team, working on new rendering solutions utilising the latest technology. As a Technical Artist, you will be part of the graphics arts team with a particular focus on optimising the workflow of our clients assets into either Unreal Engine or their existing OpenGL renderer.  You will also develop shaders and other tools to be used by the artists to increase the fidelity of the CG models without increasing the time needed to build them.  Please note that this position requires you to be based in Dunedin.

What You Bring:

Our client is seeking an experienced Technical Artist with a track record of designing and implementing high-quality, innovative solutions. Successful candidates will have demonstrable expertise in the following areas:
  • Experienced with Maya, including scripting and optimisation
  • 3D modelling, rigging, animation, rendering, post-effects, physics simulations and shader development
  • Solid understanding of art and animation pipelines, especially real-time, low-poly rendering
  • Scripting for 3D applications
  • Abreast of developments and utilisation of AI in this space
  • Attention to detail and efficiency
  • A passion for VFX, participating in online communities and following developments in the field
In addition to technical skills, you should be a collaborative team player, an effective communicator, and be driven to deliver excellent solutions.
