Due to this role being a 1 year fixed term opportunity with a specific focus, it can be worked remotely (within NZ) with occasional travel to Christchurch.

The Role:
Join the company on a fixed term basis for a 1 year minimum, with a high likelihood of extension. The purpose of this role is to help the business modernize its tech stack and facilitate the migration of its PHP codebase to more modern technologies. Testing, deployment, and code reviews will be daily responsibilities.
Proficiency in PHP and a strong knowledge of stored procedures and databases is crucial, ideally with a focus in CakePHP or a comprehensive knowledge of other PHP frameworks. The company highly values ongoing learning and mentorship within its team. 

About You:
You are ideally an ambitious Senior Developer with strong PHP skills and a high level of acumen within database technologies. Your expertise will shape the modernization of the company's tech stack and the transition to TypeScript. You will enjoy hitting the ground running and be a quick learner, able to understand different business domains efficiently. Teamwork, positivity, and creativity are the values cherished by this company.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in PHP, preferably with CakePHP but other diverse experience across PHP frameworks is a benefit. 
  • Good database and stored procedures knowledge, with T-SQL, is very desirable.
  • React and TypeScript experience is an advantage.
  • Robust problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Azure or general cloud experience is advantageous.
