The Role:
This is a two-year fixed-term role. As the Regional IT Support Technician, you’ll take ownership and lead the provision of IT support for Silver Fern Farm’s production systems, services, and hardware, at processing sites spread across Waikato and the far North, as well as the Auckland Hub office. This will mainly be focused on supporting the Te Aroha and Waitoa sites, just northeast of Hamilton - and sites in Dargaville, Rotorua and Auckland. The ideal candidate will be based in or near Te Aroha, but also be willing to travel to the other locations.

Providing support to a range of people across Silver Fern Farms, you’ll join the national IT team, who are focused on providing IT support to staff within the Hub offices & manufacturing sites, as well as ensuring site infrastructure remains functional and supported.

This role is full time, working a 37.5 - 40 hour week on a salary basis.

What makes a good IT Regional Support Technician?
Ideally you will have a strong L2 IT Support background and be looking for an opportunity to build on technical leadership skills. As the regional IT Plant Support Engineer, you will provide technical mentoring to other Plant IT Support Technicians and be an initial escalation point for complex issues
You’ll also bring:
  • A passion for IT and a willingness to learn and keep up with relevant technology
  • Broad experience across IT including Windows desktops and server technologies, networks & cabling, and Office 365
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship building capabilities, as you’ll be engaging with a broad range of people, ranging from processing staff up to senior management
  • A full New Zealand Drivers' License (as regular travel is required between sites)
