The Company
Our client is a digital studio based in Christchurch with clients around New Zealand and the world. They design and build custom websites and web apps with a focus on good design and progressive tech. They are based in a relaxed studio space surrounded by some of Christchurch's most talented creatives.

This role can either be based in Christchurch or work from home REMOTE (anywhere in NZ)
The role
Bring your own wealth of experience to contribute to the team and make an impact! We are seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer, who thrives on working with the latest technologies to develop high quality websites and web apps to meet and exceed client requirements and expectations. You will be working as part of a small focused team, taking the lead on projects. 

About you
You will have a team-oriented mindset that is thrives on doing things the right way instead of the easiest way, with a high level of autonomy — "gets things done" You will be someone who can hit the ground running and work autonomously when needed.

  • More than 7 years’ experience as a full stack developer
  • Experience working with PHP MVC framework, ideally with Laravel
  • Experience with Twig, Blade or a similar templating language would be ideal
  • Experience with a modern PHP CMS - Craft CMS, SilverStripe or Statamic
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of JavaScript (bonus for Node.js)
  • Fluent in a front-end JavaScript framework - Vue, React and Angular
  • Proficient understanding of HTML5 and CSS3
  • Proficient understanding of Git best practices
  • In-depth knowledge of a RDBMS, preferably MySQL
  • Experience building and integrating with REST APIs and GraphQL
  • Understanding of the Agile project management methodology
  • Bonus for DevOps experience - Apache / Nginx, Docker and Docksal, CI/D, AWS / Google Cloud
  • Web design agency or freelance experience is desirable
